Middle of the week

Hassle at work today - a customer placed an order giving me part numbers for jacks and adaptors. I placed the order, got the parts, delivered them, then the hassle started with a phone call:

"These jacks we've had delivered...they don't have CE marking on them..."
"Um, that's because you didn't request it - you asked for an 02-7815-0100, if you'd wanted it CE marked, the part number would be 02-7815C0100." (I'm SO helpful...by the way, these are manufacturer part numbers - not ours)
"Well, we need them with CE marking - can you arrange it?"

And so, numerous phone calls and emails later, I've found out there is a 'kit' (probably just a reinforced hose with anti-burst valves) which can be fitted (along with a nice sticker ) for the princely sum of £430 per jack

Now these 'kits' cannot possibly be anything major - but quoting 4 weeks delivery (ex-US)?

I'm tempted to leave it a week, get the jacks back in the workshop for the 'fitting', slap some stickers on them and send them back - job done.

But that wouldn't be professional, and is probably borderline illegal.

Sigh...I thought ISO9001 was a paper chasing exercise, but CE marking? I've looked throught the directives and can't find any specific category hydraulic aircraft jacks fit into...

OK, rant over - thanks for listening

It's almost that time again

That's right - with the Charity Shield being played tomorrow (Chelsea vs. Manchester United) at Wembley, the Premiership proper kicks off next Saturday.

Spurs have their first game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Shite Light. With the signings we've made over the close season, this should be the season we return to the top four.

COYS!

Been a great week all in all - seen a lot of Hat , weather's been really good and work has gone well (spending Friday sorting out gauges wasn't that much fun though...)

What a great day!

 <-- That's me today - all smiles.

Yesterday was an excellent day, I found out some things that made me so happy you wouldn't believe it...oh, I accidentally flashed a taxi driver too  didn't get a reduction on my fare mind...

Hope to play some snooker this weekend - Gooner has texted asking me a few times this week, but I've been busy. Hopefully he's not working and we can get a few frames in on Saturday.

Here's a pic of my newly painted lounge:

Yellow lounge

Oh yeah, just remembered. Surfing around this morning I came across a 'Send the Spice Girls to Iraq' posting on a forum (Scott Mills also mentioned it on Radio 1 about 4 minutes after I found it too spookily). I've already registered my request for them to do a show in Basrah  - the link is here. By the way - have you noticed how fit Sporty is looking nowadays? How YOU doin'?

Afternoon all

Well, summer is finally here it seems - had 5 sunny days in a row now

If this keeps up, I'll have to get the aircon going at work...

In other news - I finished painting my lounge - it's now 'Warm Yellow' - looks really bright now...next is new carpet and curtains (or maybe blinds if they're not too expensive).

Changed the theme on here again - a simply look (couple of people thought the old one looked too confusing)

One year

A year to the day since my dad died.

I'm so proud to be his son. I just hope I can in some way be like him.

I love you dad.

EDIT: Been a day. I met up with honic and Wendy, few beers and we're off to see some local band at the Merry Boys.

What I should have done is go see my mum.

I'm an ass...

My all time favourite track - Lou Reed's 'Coney Island Baby' (7.5mb) but damn it's awesome...

Coder humour...

I was running through some PHP code earlier and came across this somewhat amusing snippet:

Coder Humour

Chicken Little beware.

It's raining (again), I feel lonely  but if this keeps up, I should manage to get the decorating done this weekend.

Oh, after I lost my phone, it was used to make 2 calls - one for 9 seconds, one for 28 seconds - to the same mobile number. I've printed the info on these calls and will take them to the police station when I finish - they should be able to trace the number (it goes straight to Orange voicemail when I call it), and from that work out who had my phone (6 months for styealing phones here).

Bloody weather...

Time for a change

I changed the theme to the site as you can see. Kind of bored at work as I'm still stuck in the office answering the phones while Corina is on holiday.

Doubly bored now until Monday - Hat is away at the rowing championships in Scotland with her sister. I'm hoping the weekend here is going to be dull and rainy so I'll have an incentive to stay in - my plan is to get the lounge painted. If it is raining, I'll also save some money - something I'd seriously like to do as I need a new carpet, a holiday, money for my driving test (yes, I'm finally gonna go for it again...), to mention but a few...

Anyway, tonight when I finish work, I need to start moving furniture - I have some stuff to get into the auction which in turn will give me some space to move things out of the lounge to make it easier to paint/recarpet.

Got my new phone - a D900i (same as the D900 but with an FM radio). Going to check out a shop in town that (allegedly) sells 'iffy' phones to see if some chav has flogged it on - basically all I want is the memory card out of it (all my contacts are backed up, just don't have copies of some of the pictures on it), but if it's there, I'll grab it and phone the police (I have all the paperwqork from when I first got it and I DID report it missing).

Well, enough for now. Ciao.

Weeeeeeee...

Congratulations to my l'il sis - she did the Race For Life yesterday

What a weekend that was - a real up and down one, lots of highs, a few lows, but overall very good. What the hell led me to go for a swim in the river last night I have no idea...me and Hat were a little drunk I guess, but with all the rain there's been that was a definite no brainer - I dived in and by the time I surfaced I was about 30 yards downstream...I had to pull Hat out 'cos she couldn't get out on her own - that was a seriously bad idea.

I lost my phone last night too - dunno whether I left it in the taxi or maybe in the bottom of the river or in town or what - had to phone O2 to cancel the phone and number...replacements should be with me tomorrow hopefully - I feel lost without a phone...

Ok, ok - I know how it happens...still a bit scary though.

Ack - I hate Mondays

But to be honest - I did get a bit of a laugh this morning.

I sent Tim a text saying that I was staying at Hat's and could I get picked up from there this morning. I got a call from Mick this morning asking where I was, "I'm at Harriett's," I say, "Oh, Tim told me you were at Barretts..." (Barretts is a shop in town).

That was it - I was crying with laughter then

Busy weekend

Well, the loft is all boarded now - just have to get some screws to fix the boards down (not that they'll move too much - they're kinda heavy), then cut some boards to fit around the edge of the loft hatch. The other spare room is almost a bedroom too.

Spent the day at Hat's yesterday and I just know when she dropped me off at home (she was off with friends to a girlie night in Bedford - Trish's birthday do) she thought I'd be straight down the pub.

Ha! how wrong...it was almost 9pm before I went out, played some pool, had a few beers, then went into town with Andy, Wendy, Dennis and Pope (not the head of the church). Seems Hat and co had left Bedford about the same time as I left town, so Hat got back to mine just after me - she wasn't drunk this time though (unlike Friday night when she was totally pissed).

Well, pop for a quick lunchtime pint, do a bit of shopping, then back home for some dinner followed by tidying the lounge...

Friday, 13 July 2007

You have to giggle sometimes...

There are some things in life that you just have to take a double take at...

Today, I finished work and came home back to the (major) housecleaning - wait, that sounds like I live in a shithole - I don't, it's just I've let the general housekeeping 'slip' away a tad.

Anyway, after an hour or so working (moving feck off big boards into the loft prior to laying them), I took time out and had a cup of tea. Hat came round to see if I'd go mow her lawn. Well of course it was like a break so I did (and made a damn good job of it too if I may say so), drank her out of beer, and then vodka, so I have a rather pleasant buzz going on here (and, most importantly, after 2 days using power tools - I still have all my extremities, 10 fingers, ditto toes, small penis *sigh* oh well...)

840pm here and I'm just about to jump in the bath for a prolonged soak before hitting town for a few (well-deserved) alcoholic beverages...

Salut!

PS - did I mention I have a REAL spare room now - not just a room with computer parts in...

It's been a long week

I've had a housecleaning head on

Decided I was gonna recover my spare rooms (they were quite literally full of computer parts, monitors, cases and other junk).

Couple of evenings getting stuck in and I have a REAL spare room  - the back bedroom is getting there too, the boards I'd got to floor the loft space have finally been cut down so they'll go through the loft hatch (my job for the weekend - lay them) and once they're out of there all I need to do is hoover the room through and I'll once again have a 3 bedroom house.

Then I have to start on the downstairs...

The morning after

Last night was good - originally we were gonna go around town, but ended up staying in the Tudor (cheap beer, good people) until about 10, then hit town. Twice I tried to go home, both times met up with another mate who convinced me to go back into town - finally got home about 1 - VERY drunk, and crashed out on my couch...which brings me to the next bit...

Another video of me snoring is up on Youtube now - Harriett took 2 of me last night when she came in (I really need to learn to lock my door) - the one I put up is really funny though, I pull some strange faces...and can't be woken up.

Oh well, at least these things amuse others...

I was almost tempted to get a tattoo today - went with Andy and Lloyd when they went to get theirs and was almost persuaded to get the same one (silly picture of a hand with a knob instead of the middle finger on their chest). Found out that a Spurs logo (see left) will set me back about £40...thinking about it :???:

Thursday, 5 July 2007

Anyone want a cold?

I gave in to the pressure (well, I was curious as to what comments I'd get), so I uploaded the video of me snoring to YouTube. I put a couple of videos up there, and will see what others I can get...

I've had a head cold this week - seems to be hanging on longer than they usually do, but I should be fully fit by the weekend.

I read a few blogs onlline - it's a major source of fun stuff, and it seems more and more people are finding nothing to blog about. All I can say to that is: HA! i told you it was sometimes difficult...this is why I generally go on and on about football.

Monday, 2 July 2007

Oh I love Mondays...NOT!

As is fairly usual for a Monday, I was late into work  .Took me an hour or so (and several cups of coffee) to get motivated into actually working, but then I had one of those beautifully surreal moments...

My computer's network name is 'God'. I'd been in my office modifying one of our databases, then went into the other office. Completely forgetting that I'd left the database open on my machine, I tried to modify a record only to be faced with this:

God

That set me off giggling like a girl for about 15 minutes - took away the Monday blues though.

I decided to take an online IQ test...clever bastard aren't I?

Another week gone by

OK, firstly, I'm posting this link:

Race For Life

My sister is running this for cancer research - most of my friends know what our family went through over the last 12 months (just reading her page has kinda choked me up) - as she says: "Cancer touches so many people.."

On a different note - my internet is down at home right now - I had to use dialup to get online and find out why. Seems my credit card was rejected  . I just updated the card details (same details) and the payment went through...looking online now to see when my account is back up...

I love Fridays  only half a day, then the whole weekend - and this weekend is a momentous one in the UK - the smoking ban starts on Sunday - no more smelling of smoke after a night in the pub (not that I drink a great deal... )

Monday, 25 June 2007

What a weekend...yet again

Cyanide and Happiness

I decided Friday as I wasn't meeting up with Hat that I'd 'do the town'. Arranged to meet Andy at 8.30 and came home to bath etc. When I turned up at his, he was in bed and not coming out

Walked with his girlfriend to the Tudor where she works and had a beer in there, then went to the RAFA club and the Globe before meeting a mate and going to the New Inn, Shotz, Falcon and The Wrestlers - then came back to the Tudor (cheaper beer  )

I was a little drunk by now but was talking to Lisa and decided we'd go back to Shotz. Off we went, skipping down the road hand in hand like two demented teletubbies. Halfway there, my phone rang - Hat was in town and where was I? she said she'd meet me in Shotz (she did), and the night got very surreal. I remember her moving stools about, there being just us (Lisa, Hat and me) as well as Dennis and Wendy from the Tudor in the place. I remember Shotz closing, but have a blank for about 15 minutes, then I was back at Hat's and we were making bacon sandwiches at 3am...VERY strange.

When we woke up Saturday, Hat decided that I could come along with her and her sister sightseeing, then onto Market Harborough clubbing (I'm not really a clubbing person...). The plan was to visit some castle somewhere...that was the plan
what actually happened was they spent the afternoon shopping...at least some of it involved underwear so it wasn't so bad.

Market Harborough is a lovely town - loads of good pubs (nice women too  ) and the club (Enigma) was great too - just before that closed, we (Hat, Guy, Louise and me) had a water fight which was great for cooling down. Good job Guy only lives about 100 yards from the club.

The job that's been put off so many times finally happened today - tightening and checking the 'runways' for the safety lines...and I'm not too keen on heights :???: I took a picture but forgot to bring in my bluetooth dongle to be able to upload it (I'll do it when I get home). The actual job didn;t go too bad - we quoted 2 men, 5 days and got 2 hangars done in 1 day (can't do the other hangar until September  )

Another b3ta blog (I DO work sometimes...honestly)

Yet another classic QOTW entry:

Well, he eats things in alphabetical order. So if we were having sausage, egg, chips and beans; he would eat all the beans, then all the chips, the egg and finally the sausage.

I did confuse him once - is it Zucchini or courgette? He actually sat there for a while thinking about it!

I did also ask him about when he is on holiday, say in France/Spain, does he eat in alpha betical order in English or in the language of the country in which he is in?

It's a valid point if you ask me...

What Flavour Are You? .   I tashte like Alcohol.I tashte like Alcohol.

Heh. Heh. I taste like beer. I like beer. Buy me a beer. I'm not drunk, I can drink plenty    without... What was I saying? Beer.

Just a quick one

It's certainly been a hectic week so far - last 2 days down in Bournemouth doing onsite testing at FR Aviation (awesome canteen  ) - today off to the Paris air show  only bad thing (well, sort of) about a day out like this is the fact I have to wear a shirt and trousers - no jeans and t shirt

Oh well, such is life...

Still debating on uploading the video of me snoring...maybe I'll edit it a little first (nobody REALLY wants to see up my nose anyway)

Saturday, 16 June 2007

General weirdness

You may recall me mentioning a work colleague's fetish for envelopes (that'd be Corina  ). Well, checking my traffic stats this morning, I found that I'd got a hit from someone Googling 'envelope fetish' - look:
StatCounter
Oddly enough, My page comes in at number one for that search (try it yourself here).

I also mentioned before how my page looks different in Internet Explorer (never use it anyway) - have a look at a shot I took in both IE and Firefox.

Nothing more to say really other than the first game of the football season is Sunderland v Spurs - should be a good one. COYS!

YouTube

I was adding something to the b3ta QOTW and wanted to link to a small video so I uploaded it to YouTube.

Seems to be popular - 41 views (EDIT: now up to 115 views) and it's only been available for a day...

I'm debating uploading the video that was taken of me when I crashed out after a huge Sunday roast...in my defence the snoring is only that loud because the phone was practically up my nose

Check this out.

Another week - still no football though

I'm hooked on b3ta.com (link on left) - the QOTW are hilarious. Here's a quote from the latest one:

This is a question reply Many years ago I touched my cat's special area
I was sat in our living room watching TV. The rest of my family was doing likewise.
Sam, my childhood pet, now much older came and sat by my chair and rubbed his head against my hand in theuniversal sign for 'give me attention and I may let you live.'
So, still watching the TV I began to rub his head and back. Clearly meeting with feline smoothing criteria Sam rolled over and let me rub his belly.
I must stress that I was watching TV, and only idly playing with the cat, honest.
After a minute I realised that Sam had a lump on his belly. Thinking that it must be cat cancer I quickly looked over to have a look.
Sam was lying on his back, legs spread wide, enjoying a nice little hand-job.
This was in full view of my Folks too.

Hmm...

*snigger*

Did I mention that I'm bored?

I'm back!

By that I mean sneesh.com is back - think I'll leave sneesh.co.uk linked to here too though.

I was supposed to be in Luton this week - a nasty job working in the top of the hangars there checking the bolts on the lifeline runways (did I mention I'm not too good with heights?). Fortunately, the muppet down there messed up and the job has been postponed

Onsite testing down in Bournemouth is coming up soon - I may have mentioned this before, but FR Aviation have the BEST canteen ever...

Which brings me to the weather (how English huh?) - it's shit  . I mean PROPER shit - this time last year it was beautiful, sunny and warm - right now it's grey and chilly and it keeps bloody raining  . Not too much point wandering down to the beach in Bournemouth to ogle the students when it's like this...sigh.

I'm hooked on the TV show 'Lost' - I've never watched it on TV though - I heard all about it about halfway through series 1 and downloaded the whole series and watched it in 2 sittings - instantly hooked. Luckily for me series 2 was already being aired in the US so I managed to get that too. Series 3 has been a bit of a pain, as it aired the same time in the UK and US so I could only get 1 episode at a time - and it seems I've now got the final episode (downloaded at work this morning - and yes, I'm gonna watch it now too  )

OK, I'm jusr reading on the b3ta.com site (see links on the left) and came across this gem from the 'housemates from hell' QOTW:

Used to live with two guys, Little Sam and Big Sam. Little Sam was quiet, tidy and non-confrontational. Big Sam was loud, 'crazy' and liked the drugs.

Anyway, one particular week I'd had a bad cold and the bin in my room was full of snotty tissues. After work one day I come home to find Big Sam looking suitably ashamed.

"I want to let you know I did something I'm not proud of," he said.

Alarm bells.

"I really needed a shit, and there was no toilet paper in the toilet. I checked the whole house and all I could find were the used tissues in your room."

Okay.

"I need to know. Was it snot or jizz? Because I wiped my arse with them."

LMFAO

Great grafitti

Was surfing and found this:

Grafitti

I miss my domain...

Sigh, sneesh.com is down for a while - I'm trying to find out exactly why, but with it being bank holiday weekend here now, it's not likely to be up again for a while  - until then, I've redirected my OTHER domain (sneesh.co.uk).

This also means that email sent to sneesh AT sneesh DOT com is not getting through - use sneesh AT fireflyuk DOT net

Regarding the bank holiday - I was thinking about that as I walked into work this morning - all because yesterday I was at Harriett's and got a cab home, arriving just after midnight or so. As I got out of the cab, I realised I'd left my keys behind, so no house key and no keys for work - bugger

The cab driver (nice bloke) gave me a free ride halfway to my mum's to get my spare key, then I wandered the rest of the way - past the Tudor (looking in to see if they were serving late - nope  ), then past the Globe (again, looking in to see if they were having a late one - nope  ), finally getting to my mum's. Then I had to wake her up, apologising of course. I finally got into my house about 1.30am.

Anyway, the reason I was thinking about the bank holiday was that if it's been tonight I'd left my keys - mum wouldn't have been home and I'd have been caught between breaking into my house (very difficult), or my mum's (less difficult, but no idea where she kept the keys).

Anyway - all's well that ends well, and I'm gonna stash a key somewhere in my back garden I think should this happen again - Corina has also said I could give her a copy (she only lives 2 minutes from me so that might be a good idea...)

It's all fun and games - 3 day weekend - WOOHOO!

Tuesday, 22 May 2007

I'm slightly bored at work

Pretty much caught up with everything going on, and don't really fancy getting dirty in the workshop (besides I still can't wear my workboots so it'd be a Health & Safety issue if I were in there...)

Which brings me to a subject I've not mentioned for a while: my ankle.

It's all better  no scabby bits etc. anymore - no pain either - it's fixed!

What else?

Well, the plugin I use to catch spam posts (Akismet) seems to work:

Fried Spam

Did I mention it's beautiful and sunny here? seems summer has finally arrived - I thought it had beforre but we had a 'stutter' which bought loads of rain and some chilly evenings (yes, even I wore a jacket a few times).

Well, I suppose I'll go get me some coffee and have a bit of a wander around (with some papers so I at least look busy  )

Ciao

Ack

Call that a cup final?

It bored me so much I was ready to leave 10 minutes into the second half.

Typical...we're almost at the no football for months point (just the Champion's League final to go now), and the penultimate game was a non-event

Other than that, the weekend was great

Saturday, 19 May 2007

Cup final day

The cup. The first final at Wembley. The only thing missing is Spurs in the final - next year we'll be there.

Today I'm mostly gonna be supporting Man Yoo - I don't want Chelski to win anything else (when I say 'win', I mean 'buy')

THE worst day

My mum is so strong - her husband, first born and now her younger sister have gone.

If I never see another funeral I'll be glad. Today bought it all back from last year - I miss my dad and big sis so much.

I just got a call from Hat...she's a diamond

Sorry - it's a shit day, no (meaningful) football, just family stuff.

Seeya Josie

Blog entries are like buses - none for ages, then 3 come along at once...

Had to share this:

TGND mentioned something quite true the other day: lately there seem to be a lot of 'plastic' football fans - especially Chelsea. They've come out of the woodwork since Chelsea started winning. Spurs fans on the other hand, have had years of the 'maybe next year...' optimism - through thick and thin we've still stood up and said "Yes, I support Spurs - and I'm proud of it regardless."

"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have
set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."
- Bill Nicholson

The end of season

Sunday was the final day of the Premiership with all matches being played at the same time - I'd misread the kick-off time though and thought they all started at 1pm.

I'd asked Andy to give me a hand dumping a load of junk so I was up early and did a load of housework while waiting for him to call. He picked me up about 12 and we went off to his mate's house to pickup the lorry - we got lumbered into dumping a bed for his mate and some other stuff for my mum when we picked up a sack barrow we needed - that made up one load.

Then it was round to mine and load up with the old fridge, cooker and washing machine as well as a LOT of old computer parts/cases...that made a second load.

After dumping that lot in the rain, we decided his fridge freezer could wait until another time (and we both thought kick-off was approaching) so we went down the pub.

We soon realised I was wrong about the times so settled down to have a few beers - I ended up leaving before the game in the end.

As it turned out - Spurs won 2-1 agains Man City to finish 5th in the league and book their European tour next season.

A great season, having played 59 games in domestic and European tournaments, the whole squad has played the game it SHOULD be played - with skill and flair. Martin Jol is a great manager and I can easily see us finishing in the top 4 next season and getting into the Champions League.

I leave you with the Godfather himself, Martin Jol:

Martin Jol

5 days worth of blog...in one

Well, Friday...that was supposed to be a nice quiet evening in - Harriett was off clubbing with her sister, so I decided to have a good meal, then chill in font of the TV watching a film or summat and have a bottle of wine.

Great plan - and it started off well too - had my dinner, then a relaxing bath and was just about to sit down with half a pint of wine (well, those little glasses are too small) when I got a text: "We're in the Old Sun drinking - can we pick you up so you can drive the car back to yours?" so off I went to get dressed.

Yid Army!

I've said it before, but it needs saying again - Berbatov is pure class

I know I'm biased, but Keane and Berbatov is the best strike partnership in the Premiership - They both deserved the player of the month award. And let's not forget Defoe, what a star he is, coming off the bench on so many occasions to score superb goals - Defoe = definitive super sub.

Keane & Berbatov

5th place beckons...back into europe

COYS!

Actually, I had to smile - I checked on the Spurs website how many goals Keane had scored this season...when you look at the first team, the goals are coming from everywhere - even Robbo's scored

holiday weekends - gotta love 'em

The only bad thing about a long weekend is the fact that sooner or later it comes to an end. Having said that, it's been a mad time - went to see Spiderman 3 with Harriett on Saturday then we hit town - it was great fun - not many places you can go and get your nipples sucked by 2 gorgeous women, but I found it  and loved every minute of it - Andy was videoing the whole thing but only got about 5 seconds. I did offer to go through the whole thing again mind... . Shame really, it would have been a great youtube moment...

Still, Sunderland got promoted to the Premiership as champions, Chelski failed to win the title (yes, I actually cheered for the scum yesterday...how bad is that?). Talking of yesterday, it turned into another mad time. We were going to stay in and chilll, but Harriett's friend rang needing to talk so we ended up in town once more - didn't stay too long though, beer in the Cornerhouse, couple in the Priory, then back to the Tudor Rose to wait for the taxi. And then back to Harriett's where we drank a bottle of Bailey's...interestingly

Spurs play Charlton tonight - 3 games to go and we should finish in 5th place and get back into Europe next season.

Poor Corina...

Honestly, she takes so much from me at times.

Today was one of those times - she supports Chelski (remember them? they got beaten by Liverpool in the Champion's League semi final last night) so she got into work today to find some unknown person had sabotaged her computer to display a lovely background of Gerrard holding the cup as the computer played "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Snigger...I wonder who could possibly have done that?

Anyway, Both me and TGND have been winding her up all day - I just sent her the sound via MSN and got this back:

I love the summer

The weather has been pretty good here - sunny and warm. The football has been kinda special too, what with Spurs making a last push for European football next season with Berbatov playing the most amazing football I've ever seen (and Spurs have had their share of quality players - Lineker, Hoddle, Klinnsman, Ardiles, Villa etc.), he makes it look so effortless. If we can keep hold of him during the summer, next season is gonna be so damn good  take a look at his volley against 'Boro at the weekend:

Cost to us: £10.9 million. Worth to us: Priceless

There IS a god, and his name is Dimitar Berbatov

It's started

I got a text form Honic just as I was finishing work today saying he was in the bar.

So, I paid my rent and bills and went in to meet him to see how his holiday was - fully intending to drink coke/squash. But as I ordered it, he said "I've got you a beer in." so it would have been rude for me to turn it down...

Anyway, 4 beers later I felt quite drunk (that first one tasted DAMN good though), so I went and did a bit of shopping and came home to have some dinner - I'm off out now to sample a few more beers (just to make sure they taste good in all the pubs around town).

Did I ever mention how I love Fridays?

My (slightly insane) work colleague...

Ah Corina...the days would drag without your classic comments.

    "My Google has gone wonky..."
"You're not gonna catch me with that...again..."
"Could I have that used envelope please?"

This could be a regular feature...

Corina's daughter (Nic) thinks there's a dust monster living under her bed  she's so convinced of this, she cleans out the 'dust bunnies' so it can't eat them...little does she realise that this only makes the dust monster angry (not to mention hungry).

And to think, neither of them are blonde - but they both should be...

Corina just came out with a classic 'Corina moment'...

"When you're listening to the radio in the car, do you look at the radio if you want to hear clearer?"
"No, Corina, I either turn it up or move my head closer to the speakers..."
    "Oh..."

Like I said - she's blonde at heart (she dyes her hair).

Happy St George's day!

And yes, I firmly believe it should be a bank holiday.

What a week that was

Last weekend I watched the Sunday football game - as usual - with Andy (AKA 'Honic') - as usual - in the Tudor - as usual. As normally happens, we both ended up slightly tipsy (some would say pissed as farts but they're biased) and Honic left about 9.30-10.00 (as far as I know). I stayed for a bit longer, then decided I'd had enough so I went to the toilet prior to wandering home. As I came out of the toilet, I was (literally) jumped on by a friend who convinced me to go into town with them.

Now, bearing in mind she'd fallen through a bush on her way to the Tudor, and I had a definite wobble on, with hindsight this was maybe not such a good idea...

We made it to the Priory in two pieces (I think we may have merged into one along the way at some point or points), then she bought Sambuca (with a Beck's to wash it down).

I kind of lost track of things in the Priory then, apparently we were behaving badly and were told to leave as they wanted to close, so we wandered back to mine so she could get summat to eat.

Couldn't get her a cab before 4am so we sat up chatting and stuff until it arrived.

With 2 hours before I was due to get up for work I still thought I could do it so I crashed out - only to be woken by Tim ringing me saying they were outside, he (correctly) assumed from my response (a mumble) that I maybe needed another hour so he said he'd get me picked up when Corina came in.

Anyway, I DID make it into work, and even lasted until about 3.30 when the hangover major kicked in - then I had to go home. I tried laying on the couch, but decided that a 'hair of the dog' was needed, so I headed for the Tudor where the first pint went down VERY slowly. The second was okay, the third was blurred by the fourth...and before you know it, I was drunk again which made me realise I'd not make it in to work tomorrow.

Tuesday morning I vowed to stay off alcohol for a week (minimum) - and, too date I have  even Friday night when I got a call to go to the Priory at 1am, I drank a coke. Even the Spurs v Arsenal game (2-2), I drank coke.

From Tuesday I can have a beer, but I think I'll leave it until Friday

George Bush is a fecking moron

here's proof:

Been a beautiful weekend here - summer is early (and hopefully stays late).

One thing I noticed the other day - my site looks weird in Internet Explorer, the left hand sidebar is way down the page. Also, do these videos show up? they do in Firefox...

The big day is here - Spurs vs Seville second leg. After we went down 2-1 in the first (away) leg because of that extremely dubious penalty decision, we now entertain them at the Lane.

Keane, Berbatov and Lennon were all rested at the weekend and should be fully fit and full of goals, and the rumour is Ledley King is (finally) back from injury. The stage is set, with 3 English teams in the Champion's League semi-finals, Spurs can be the fourth English team in European semi-finals

Chatting to TGND earlier, he mentioned something about Google Maps - he told me to get directions from New York to London, then look at instruction 23. This is what you get:

Google Maps

Might take a little while...

I need to find a plugin that allows me to embed video here - there's an awesome WKD advert which is hilarious - I've linked to it here.

Summer seems to have arrived here - the weekend was beautiful, and this week has been good too...

A travesty

The Sevilla vs. Spurs game started well last night - real end to end stuff, with Spurs stamping their authority on the tie with a goal in the second minute. Then came the extremely controversial penalty for Sevilla - look at the picture, you can clearly see Robbo got both hands on the ball therefore it was an excellent save:

NOT a penalty

After he'd awarded this, the ref went on to make a series of dubious freekick awards to the Spanish team - one of these (IMHO) was for the comedy dive the player did...

In the second half, when Berbatov got sandwiched between two defenders while trying to head the ball he was held down by both of them, and guess what? yup, the ref gave a freekick to Sevilla...

Oh well, we got an away goal and the return leg at The Lane is next week - COYS!

The holiday weekend is upon us...almost

One of the things that keeps me sane at work (well, I have to deal with co-workers with weird fetishes etc.) is my elastic band ball - here it is:

Ball

Of course, the coffee I drink in copious amounts helps too...

3.15 - only an hour and three quarters until the long weekend
